MOCKETTS WOOD SURGERY IS PART OF THE MARGATE AND MOCKETTS WOOD PRIMARY CARE NETWORK WHICH INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING FOUR SURGERIES:

The PCN have developed a patient consultation questionnaire for the proposed Margate Health and Wellbeing Centre. This proposal is being made for the benefit of everyone who is currently a patient at one of the four surgeries within the Margate and Mocketts Wood Primary Care Network.
THIS NEW HEALTH AND WELLBEING CENTRE IS NOT INTENDED TO REPLACE ANY GP OR HEALTHCARE CORE SERVICES WHICH YOU ALREADY ACCESS AT YOUR CURRENT GP SURGERY.
Instead, the hope is that this Centre will provide increased access to a wider range of health, social care, and voluntary community services within one community space and will provide more services for the people of Margate and Broadstairs, in addition to the ones which already exist. We want everyone in the Margate and Broadstairs areas to be able to have access to the new Centre.

A second text message was subsequently sent to all patients due to an error in the original message. We sincerely apologise for the error and would greatly appreciate if you wouldn't mind filling out this questionnaire.
The questionnaire will close at midnight on Sunday 31st May 2020.

Due to the current COVID-19 circumstances, we are required to confirm your identity via video link. You will receive a message once your online access documentation is ready, and it will ask you to confirm if you would still like online services. Once we receive a reply, you will be messaged with a link to connect you via video with a member of staff who will confirm your identity, please have a form of identity such as a passport or driving license at hand. Further to confirmation, you will receive a final text message containing a link to your online access document which details the registration process.
Continuity of Service EU/Exit
Please contact the surgery during our opening hours 8 AM-6.30 PM, in case of any difficulties out of hours contact 111 (non-emergencies). For any emergencies please contact 999.
Telephone Triage System - How will it work?
When calling to make an appointment with a doctor you will be put onto a telephone triage list for the doctor to call you back (unless it is possible to put you straight through). You won’t need to ring at 8:00 on the day to be sure of getting an appointment that day, as the system will operate all day long.
You can ask the doctor to call back around a particular time if you will not be able to take a call immediately. The doctor will call you back as soon as possible (or as close to the time requested). The doctor will then have a brief discussion with you about your reason for needing an appointment and will book an appointment for you that day if appropriate or for another day if necessary.
If you require a chaperone to be present during your consultation, please do ask, as this will be arranged.
1. If you are waiting for an appointment from the hospital following a referral please call the relevant department/ hospital for information, rather than the surgery. The outpatient's appointment line at K&C Hospital is 01227 868686.
2. Please remember that not all results will be sent back to the surgery unless the test was requested by your doctor, therefore if you were referred for the test by the consultant please call the appropriate secretary regarding results before contacting the surgery.
Convenience doesn’t stop there and you can now access several services online. Ordering a repeat prescription, sending us your comments and certain appointments are also just a click away. If you’re not yet registered with us you can download the necessary forms.
Every patient registered at Mocketts Wood Surgery now has a named allocated GP. Please contact the surgery to find out who this is or you may request a specific GP.

The Accessible Information Standard
The Accessible Information Standard is a new law to make sure that people with a disability, impairment or sensory loss are given the right information they can easily read or understand. At Mocketts Wood Surgery we want to make sure that we give you information that is clear to you. If you have a disability, impairment or sensory loss you will receive a letter asking you to let us know if you have any communication preferences.
Friends and Family Test

We will share the results on our website and with our patient group and agree on actions with them to address any issues that are raised.
Travel Vaccination Clinics
When going abroad on holiday to exotic places the right vaccinations must be given to protect you. When booking an appointment for this clinic please can you let the receptionist know when and where you are going so that an appropriate appointment can be made for you to see the nurse, who will be able to advise you regarding protection. Where possible please try to book your travel vaccinations 6 - 8 weeks before travelling.

The Mocketts Wood team is extremely disappointed with the outcome of the recent CQC inspections and Overall Rating.
Since the Inspection we have made the following changes:
Safe, Effective, and well-led Domains
- Staff immunisation requirements are fulfilled
- Staff Mandatory Training requirements are fulfilled
- Staff Recruitments policies and procedures are updated.
- Annual checklist relevant to General practice has been formulated based on health and social care act 2008.
- Review of consultations as a response to CQC concerns around competent workforce has thus far identified no harm to patients. We continue to review as part of our audit cycle
- The existing complaints procedure and framework has now been updated to incorporate the governance for an end to end complaint investigation management.
We are actively seeking advice and support from CCG, NHS E and LMC to establish effective systems and processes to ensure good governance
